Pastor Joanne Nagele
I was Ordained into the Ministry of Word and Sacrament on February 22, 1981. I grew up on a farm west of Le Roy, MN and, since farming was my beginning point, I wanted to remain with people who knew about our northern plains ways of thinking and doing things. My years as a Pastor have all been in South Dakota. My first Call was to Frederick Lutheran Parish – St. Paul’s and Savo Lutheran Churches. My next Calls were to Our Savior’s in Wessington Springs; St. John, Warner; Interim at Oldham Lutheran, Oldham and St. John Lutheran, rural Romana, Parish. I began my ministry at Our Savior’s Huron in June, 2017. I am honored to be the Pastor at Our Savior’s and it is a joy to get to know you and work with all of you.
Vanessa Cardona and her family have lived in Huron since December of 2006. She is originally from Texas and moved to this great town to make a good home for her family. She and her husband Ray have been married since 2000 and have 5 wonderful children, 1 daughter and 4 boys. They all attend Huron Schools and are very involved in extracurricular activities. Vanessa and her family are members of Huron Baptist Church where she and the 3 oldest children lead praise and worship. She and her husband are also the youth leaders there as well. With ALL of her spare time, she enjoys spending it with her family and doing crafts and DIY’s. Since April of 2013, she has had the pleasure of working at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in the office. So stop in anytime and say hi!
